Licebeaters, located in Nassau County (Long Island) New York, was founded by Wendy Beck and Penny Good in 1996. Since that time Wendy and Penny have made hundreds of house calls throughout the New York metropolitan area to help people with lice removal and treatment.

New York franchise (the first Licebeaters)
How we got started
In the mid 1990's, Penny was working as a medical office manager in a doctor's office that specialized in pediatric medicine. The office was frequently getting calls from people who were unable to get rid of their head lice using the well known over- the-counter medicated shampoos and rinses. Because of these experiences in the office, Penny came up the idea for a lice treatment and nit removal business and enlisted her good friend Wendy, to join her.
Wendy and Penny did many hours of research to perfect their removal technique and treatment plan. In particular, they relied heavily on the well researched, common sense approach to head lice removal discussed on HeadliceInfo.com. They opened up their business and began making house calls.
Since then, Wendy and Penny have treated hundreds of satisfied customers in the comfort of their own homes. Licebeaters' medical director is Dr. Stephen Beck, a Board Certified Internist (and Wendy's husband).

New Jersey franchise
How we got started
As working moms (Nina as a science and special education teacher and Karen as a marketing consultant to the non-prescription drug industry), Nina and Karen wanted to do work that would help others and give them more flexibility.
Karen learned about Licebeaters from Wendy, her longtime friend and founder of Licebeaters. Karen and Nina worked with Wendy and her partner, Penny, in the New York area making house calls to treat people with head lice. Karen and Nina saw first-hand that the Licebeaters' treatment plan is 100% effective in eradicating lice.
When Wendy and Penny decided to franchise their business, Karen and Nina jumped at the opportunity to purchase the New Jersey territory.
Karen and Nina are proud to own a business that they know has a 10 year track record of successfully treating people with lice.

Connecticut franchise
How we got started
The Licebeaters Connecticut franchise, centrally located in Connecticut to meet the
needs and demands of potential clients, is owned by Terry Johnson and Cathy Morway.
Prior to their purchase of the Connecticut franchise, Terry and Cathy worked with
Licebeater founders, Wendy and Penny, learning the Licebeater technique and helping
people in the New York area with lice removal and treatment.
Our Service Area
The Connecticut franchise includes all counties in Connecticut with the exception of Fairfield County (that is covered by the New York franchise).

Florida franchise
How we got started
The Florida franchise is owned and operated by Donna Schiffman and Kerri Leombruno.
Both Donna and Kerri have extensive
expertise and experience with lice removal. Both have worked closely with, and have been trained by the Licebeaters' founders, Wendy Beck and Penny Good.
Donna, who has four children and Kerri, who has three children, have professional backgrounds in the Human Resources environment. They became dedicated to sparing other parents the troubling and difficult experience of removing lice after treating their own children.

The Florida franchise is located in South Florida and serves the tri county area of Palm Beach, Broward and Miami - Dade.
